New mojave and bumblebee

cheeeezzz Feb 09, 2008 06:58 PM

So I've had a few different pythons over the past 5 years, but just thought it might be a cool hobby to get into breeding some balls. Took a trip to NERD where Kara showed my buddy and I around, then helped me pick out a great looking male mojave. Then just today, I found a great deal on a Bumblebee male from a local breeder and picked him up as well (I'll post pics once I take a few).

So I'll start by saying I'm not very educated on the genetics thing, so I was hoping everyone out there may have some cool ideas about what females to breed these guys to next season. I was thinking maybe a pastel for the bumblebee and hopefully get a killer bee out of it, and a lesser or a butter for the mojave and hopefully get lucky w/ a blue eyed lucy.

Those are just a few thoughts, anyone have any luck w/ some other options??

Those sound like good ideas. Only you should have bought the females first, grew them up, then bought the males. You're gonna pay for breeder morph females.

I understand that, I don't want to wait the 2 years to grow up the females though, so it doesn't really matter in this situation (luckily got a pretty good job and don't have too many expenses holding me back). I'm going to get the females in the 1000 g range w/ in the next couple months. There are a couple shows in the new england area I am going to check out, plus there always seem to be some pretty good deals on the classifieds.

Back to the question, anyone have any other ideas for the females? thanks

Pastaves (Mojave x Pastel)
Bumblebee x Lemon Blast (Pinstripe Pastel) will make any of these:
Super Pastel Pinstripe Spider
Super Pastel Pinstripe (Killer Blast)
Super Pastel Spider (Killer Bee)
Super Pastel
Pastel Pinstripe Spider (Spinner Blast)
Pastel Pinstripe
Pastel Spider
Pastel
Pinstripe Spider (Spinner)
Pinstripe
Spider
and Finally..... a normal!

Bumblebee x Lesser is cool
Bumblebee x Axanthic, longer project but cool.
Pinstripe to either.
There's all kinds of things you can do with that bumblebee. I'm not a huge fan of Mojave combos, so I'm not sure what to suggest other than a Lesser or Butter. I wouldn't do Mojave x Mojave though. That animal has a blackish head.
Sorry about the first post, I always assume everyone's like me.

Woah! I just checked some of those out on the NERD website... I never knew there were so many options... hmmm food for thought

So I'm gonna take a wild guess and say this morph breeding "hobby" can easily turn into an addiction haha

...pinstripe female, albino female, for the BEE. Then next year you can take a male spider het albino from the clutch and make some albino spiders!!
