Night time drop?

HerpLover95 Feb 09, 2008 08:22 PM

Hello,
I posted a couple of days ago about getting a Leo at the MD show, and I didnt. My dad wouldn't let me. So on the way home he changed his mind. I might get one Tom. and I have a Q about night time temp drops. I've heard that they're safe at 64F-is this true? My Corn snake cages get down to about that at night. Will this be ok for a Leo? He will have a Night light and UTH so the whole cage wont be that cool. Thanks for any help!

If the cold side gets to 65/64F, but you have a UTH on the other said holding temps in the mid 80s, just make sure you have good hides on both ends so the gecko can feel safe no matter what side he's on.

So, yes, as long as your UTH can hold a gradient to 85F or so on the other end in that ambient temp at night you'll be ok.

After all, it gets mighty cold in the desert at night.

Yes that's what I was thinking. The desert's not warm at all at night. So thank you. I will make sure to get two secure hides. I'll try my best to think like a gecko comfort wise! Haha
