hey guys i was out for a while,but getting back in the groove,i have been keeping tabs on the ban...what will this mean for us in cali.i mean i dont have problems selling my snakes to local pet stores..but for shipping?any thoughts would be great...thanx guys

I'm in northern cali myself and honestly, I don't know that there's much you can do besides sell them in cali. I think you could still ship thru fedex, but just in cali. Like I said, if this ban does go through, which I highly doubt it actually will, I don't think there is much you could do besides sell them in cali. Good luck. And where are you in cali?

im so.cali,yeah i know im probably just panicing,but im just preparing myself just incase.i do alot of business with local pet stores..so its too bad but if i have to ship it going to be tough.thanx brian f.

I don't think the ban will go through but if it does - as long as they don't outright ban the animals we in Cali are fairly lucky - we have a huge market and lots of money out here on the coast, we have a lot of high end animals in a lot of private collections throughout the state - with Snakekeeper now in Utah we don't have a major breeder here to produce more than the market can sustain - tho I'm sure it wouldn't be long before some idiot screwed it up. However I don't think the big chain pet stores (like petco) would buy directly from private breeders - once their distributors were no longer able to distribute they'd likely just do away with balls and boas entirely - not that I'd ever sell my babies to Petco anyway - I just don't have the heart. It wouldn't be the end of the world - just a different one.
