dry belly scales?

kumasi Feb 09, 2008 10:45 PM

noticed one of my newbies within the last week or so having some underbelly dry scales. All the top scales look and feel normal...but for some reason the bottom either snag or pull back slightly while I run it through my hands. Already soaked and raised humidity to around 65%. Is this all I should do? Ive also heard it could be due to a shed that may be coming soon.

Sounds like a hydration issue. When was the last shed? You may be ok with the soaking and humidity raise. Unless he is shedding I would not get any higher than 60%. What type husbandry are you using?

I use cypress bedding because it seems to hold in the humidity longer.
