Ok what is the story behind this one? Where can pics be found. Was the original wild caught or popped up in breeding. Id like the history on this one

Yeah I'd like to see some pics as well. I've heard mention of "snow" yellows but its funny you never see pics of the anerythristics... lol.

Back in '97, I bought some of Gulf Coast Reptiles "anerythristic" yellow rats but they did not turn out to be what I'd call anerythristic. While they had a somewhat "hypo" look, they were by no means anerythristic... or at least the two pairs that I raised to adulthood. I have pics somewhere.

Then there was the male "anerythristic" yellow rat that was for sale at Daytona several years ago.... lol. I think they called him "Blackjack" or something like that. About all I can say about that snake is... LOL!!

I know one person that had axanthic/anery yellow rats, saw them in person and they were amazing. I snapped a few pics but that is all that remains of the project as far as I know. This person passed away and I don't know what happened to the snakes.

Ya I am trying to get more information as i havent seen any and they would be amazing. Yet somehow there are these snow and ghost morphs out there that are supposedly not hybrids

Dwight how about ghost glades or lavender albinos? have any details on them?

Never amazes me how people will never buy a snake labeled as hybrid but are soo willing to overlook the truth and buy a hybrid if it is labeled pure

Ghost glades = whitesided everglades. Same thing. Ghost glades are not true "ghosts", meaning they are not hypomelanistic x anerythristic animals as one might think. Its just the name the original breeder coined to describe the morph.

Dwight,........I remember seeing some pics of the original "axanthic" yellow ratsnake, along with a bunch of het babies that were for sale 13 years ago at the Orlando reptile expo. I was seriously considering getting some, but had other projects that took priority. I talked to the breeder, and he wasn't quite sure what to call them,....to me, there was no question as to them ACTUALLY being "hypoxanthic" at that time, they looked as though the pics were taken with black & white film!, light grey snake, with dark longitudinal stripes.

I say they were extremely HYPOXANTHIC, because you could just see some yellow on the chin and cheek area of the snake, and on a true axanthic, it would be void of absolutely ALL yellow.

Was that breeder Chris McQuade? Just curious, I saw his animals at the FIRS in Tampa, 1997. I didn't see any adults, only babies. IIRC, they were $250 each for hatchlings which was much more than I was willing to pay at the time.

Dwight,....I can't remember his name at all, but I could swear the business name was Gold Coast, or Gulf Coast Reptiles, as you stated in your earlier post.
