FINALLY SOME ACTION!

Snakesatsunset Feb 10, 2008 05:35 PM

I put this leopard female in with dbl het albino leopards, hypo het albinos, sunglows, motleys and she didn't like any of them. Well this little male was done with the female he was with(she ovulated yesterday) and I thought wehat the heck, wouldn't hurt to try one more time...well she accepted his courting advances, hopefully she builds up and later locks with him
I have another blood boa male ..maybe she'll like him too...do you think I should throw him in instead? What would a bloody leopard look like?

Leopards, like all Sonorans, breed late. I had "tricked" my male to get him to breed a Hypo female earlier.

I just introduced him to my 66% het Leopard female today, she is pure Sonoran.

So odds are that one of the earlier males would have gone to work once the female was putting off the right pheromones. Males seem to be more versatile on time tables. But the female has to be receptive and be putting off the scent.

I think a Blood Leopard would be cool, though it might be too dark to make it worth while. I do understand you wanting a litter from your girl, but trying all those males aren't you worried about getting a mixed litter and them being fathered by a male that you didn't expect.

The other males wouldnt even court with her....for a while I though she was male becuase she probed weird everytime...this is the first time she is actually being even courted....
I was thinking a bloody leopard might be like a bloody salmon color with pattern though. Next year Ill go for that....atill want to throw in a dbl het albino leo male nad get leos poss. het for albino ...ah, well see...what would you do

It would be cool to see a red Leopard. My feeling on the Blood though is that because Bloods get rather dark themselves, the Leopard version may not be that noticeable. It could end up looking like a Pewter with a marbled pattern. It guess it all depends how the black on the Leopard and the red of the Blood interact.

Someone has to do it!

I would really like to see a T Leopard using the Nicaraguan T Albino. I think that Jeremy and Pete did a joint project to produce DHs, but I am not positive.

I also want to see a Hypo Leopard with the marbled pattern. I think the Salmon Leopard that Mike produced may have been affected by both the Salmon gene and the Colombian influence. I've seen a few Leopards that were 50% Colombian and seemed to have a more broken pattern. I would imagine that one could just as easily take after the Sonoran side and be more aberrant.

Ok, I'm rambling.

Leopards are cool, and I want to see the results from different combinations!

Nice pairing. We have a group of dbl hets produced here (kahl albino x leopard) and hopefully next year they go for us. I believe the females wont get any bigger due to sonoran influence, But I want to see what another year will do for them in terms of size cause they are only about 4-4.5ft long and as thick as a lower forearm. The blood leopard might be different.....I ran the blood through a red group EBV pastel and a super red female I picked up a little while back that is a screamer and red red red to try to have bloods that stay BRIGHT red, my two males are red and 4 years old now, poss. het pewter, but they do have their ugly days, lol.
