Anyone know anything about pinworms in snakes?

They're considered common and harmless by most people I have talked to about them. Most parasites are unless they're given the chance to multiply into mass quantities of them which can be brought upon by dirty conditions in the cage. Water bowls and cages should be disinfected regularly. Pinworms are very common in Pythons. If I do a fecal exam and see a few I think nothing of it. Matter of fact I checked a sample from a python someone sold me who swore it was "clean" and the amount I saw was outrageous in comparison to any other sample I ever checked. I never treated the snake, and it is doing just fine.

the need to wash your hands after handling / cleaning your snakes. People get pinworms too, and they are somewhat uncomfortable.
