The biggest BCC I've ever housed ...

dyagi Feb 14, 2008 12:47 AM

I thought I'd come out of hibernation and post one. My brother and I took a little drive to EBV this past Monday since we had the day off. When I got there John (who is one of the owners of EVB)said there was a snake I had to have. He showed me this huge Surinam that he sold to a customer 7 years ago (I think she may be older to get that size, but someone who's been in the business longer may give me a estimated guess by her size and girth) and I need to take her.
I told him I can't afford to purchase any animals at this time, but I can do a breeding loan. So he went and got a gunny sack and said here you go just give me half of the litter if she produces. She's between 9.5 to 10 ft and weighs around 55 to 60 lbs.
I was reading a earlier post by JB about over fed & obese boa's, so what do you guys think about this girl? She is solid, so I feel she must have some age to her, plus I'm sure she was on a heavy feeding schedule too. Opinions welcomed.Oh by the way the male I also got from EVB 2 years ago and is 6.5 ft.
Good luck to all this breeding season,
Derek
I had to drink the Pepsi first lol.

Derek, that's an amazing animal. Best of luck with her. I'd better not show Janelle pics of it. She's still bugging me to get a suri. Nick

I have a circleback Bcc. that at the age of 10 stopped getting longer at 10 ft. She's 14 now and holding at 10ft. and 60 lbs.

Its kinda of hard to say, i got this 8.5'ft.long suriname female that is 34 lbs. and is a 2000 animal. She is as thick as
a 2 liter bottle and is solid, not fat.

do you want a money order or cashiers check and when can we arrange shipping? Ha! ........John

babies from that 13ft BCC you got from Pete. I'll try to get some pics of her this weekend and post her on the forum.

madisonrecords Feb 15, 2008 07:21 AM

Please send some pics of her! I have been trying my best to track down a pair of those guys. If you even have the slightest thought of selling her at any time, let me know? I will pay well for her............John

Richard. I guess if they have the genetics they can get big in a short period of time. Besides growing over a foot a year, I guess it's not really the length that surprises me, it's more the girth of your female and mine that blows me away.

I checked her out at EBV last week! I thought she was AWESOME! I almost bought her myself just for her massive size. Great snake you got. Dan

That girl looks muscular even thought it's hard to say because fat is mainly concentrated down over the belly on the lower sides of the body.
My biggest one is 11 years old, abount 10 ft and 52 pounds.
Here she is, gravide !

I feel you can tell pretty much when a animal has been power fed. Tiny heads, very soft looking and not very dense or robust.
