Blue Phase ETB?

SadisticMuffin Feb 14, 2008 09:44 AM

Does anyone have a good site on where I can find some? What would be your best suggestion and things to look for when buying these type of ETB's?

I´d say it is bull[bleep].

It is very rare, but an emerald can have a slight green/bluish (not even close to real blue) color, nothing compared to BLUE GTPs.
I believe some day the blue emerald might come up, but I really have never seen or heard of a true blue one.

Even if a guy has a nice bluish emerald, in my opinion, buying babies hoping they will turn out the same color is like playing the lottery.

Still, if you really want to take your chances, I´d advise you to ask for outdoor pictures of the adults so you can have a better idea on how the real color is. Or try to visit the guy and see the snakes for yourself.

Then, if you like the adults, the best would be buying 3 or 4 babies, wait 5-6 years until their background color is more or less established so you can see the results.

It is a blind shot. IMO

Can be worth if the guy doesnt ask crazy prices...

I see. I had pondered taking a trade for what the man called "blue phase" Emeralds. I asked him for pictures of the snakes he has available (young adults to adults) and he hasnt replied back yet after 3 days of my last email to him. I suppose he couldnt back up his offer. Its a shame I was really excited about possibly getting ahold of one.

On another note, I have seen some pretty blueish emeralds. A link to some is here..

Was hoping that the snakes the guy that offered a trade for one to me would have some looking like these. I still have my fingers crossed, hoping that maybe he is just taking his time since he is a whole saler with lots of stock to go through.

SadisticMuffin,

I think you are mistaking the Green Tree Python for the Emerald Tree Boa. Completely different snakes.

If you want a Green Tree Python (GTP), then you can end up with a blue one.

Hans,

Beautiful "bluish" one. A friend of mine has a male that is about that same color as your friend´s emerald.
I believe that further selective breeding can lead to even more dramatic background bluish color.
