Is this the waxy stool?

ilovemylizard Feb 14, 2008 02:12 PM

My gravid girl left this weird urate/poo in her cage last night...just would like to hear from the other breeders here, if it looks like the waxy poo? The dark part is not normal poo, it is soft and jellylike...

She is my50/50 Suriname het albino, I saw what I believe was the ovulation October 24th, and she shed about two weeks after that...going by the ovulation date, she would be at about 110 days post ovulation...Spending a lot of time on the cool side as well...

She was bred by this male, who is her brother...he is the dad of the Roswell boa.

Earlier in 2007, around July/August, she was also bred by a young albino male...I don't think he got the job done, I saw no swelling, etc. and seems too late now for a litter from him...

if she is always on the cool side out of curiosity???

Don't mean to hijack someone else's thread, but mine is always on the cool side now. She dropped what I believed to be her waxy stool early last week. She has been on the cool side for several days, does this mean she is about to drop?

Those are urates. The "Waxy Stool" may actually be a seamen plug. Imagine a tootsie roll shaped chunk of really slimy looking light chocolate. That is the "Waxy Stool". The size varies. I should get a couple good clean shots of the "Waxy Stool".

You know the "Waxy Stool" was originally the "Waxy Turd". I went around and around with the Reptiles editor at the time. I wanted the Turd word. He wanted to call it the "Waxy Feces". How yucky is that? "Feces"? A lot of people wouldn't even know what that was but everyone knows exactly what a "Turd" is. I argued until I came up with the word "Stool". He compromised and we went with "Stool". So stool it has been every since. I still wish it was "Turd".

By the dates you have here, you will likely see that stool in around two weeks give or take a couple days. You will know it when you see it!

I thought I would include a little video of a Pearlescent Boa that ovulated here two months ago. She is looking good... another two months to wait...

Heather,
I'm not sure if that is the waxy stool or not, but from your timeframe, she is at 113 days post ovulation. I would put her due date at 123 days post ovulation, so hopefully she can hold on for another week or so.

I have a female that ovulated twice, once on October 21 and another on October 28. Due to the double ovulation, I'm really not sure exactly when the babies are coming, but we should have our litters around the same time.

Good luck and make sure I'm on that list.

I think she's not even close to giving birth. I remember you posting pictures of the male breeding her in Dec. Then you posted pictures of her doing an "arching" thing in Jan. Then you said she was in shed.

So, I could be wrong, but I think the male that was breeding her in Dec is the father.

I think that arching thing she was doing was a "slo-mo" ovulation.

Then I think that shed she had recently, you did say she was in shed, was the POS.

That would make her due in May.

At least, that's what I think. I'm probably wrong, because I haven't been sitting there watching her. I came to this conclusion, from previous posts you've make.

Anyway, I hope she gives you a nice litter with more Roswell boas in there.
