temperament?

allherpsjake Feb 15, 2008 03:57 PM

Do bloods have a bad temperament? Or are they like other snakes the more you handle them the more tame they get? Do they like to be handle? If you were comparing then with another snake witch would it most be like?

it all depends on the individual snake jsut like all snakes, my two bloods were a little nippy when i first got them in dec. but are just fine now, they are gettin close to bein my favorites,as long as you get a captive bred their temperments are just fine.

I completely agree, personality has a lot to do with it. Also, captive bred seem to be better as the temperment seems somewhat genetic to a certain degree. Mine are sweet right out of the egg, but have great feeding responses. Get them use to eating at night in semi-darkness and handling when it is bright out. Better results.

As you can tell, the picture is of a killer borneo (just kidding, sweeter than a kitten).

There are a lot of answers to this in some recent posts below this one...

I have one male that has just recently started having an attitude. I can't figure out why either I have had him since august and he has been fine now he likes to snap at ya. I do still handle him but alittle more carefully now. lol

Out of the five bloods I have two females are tame as could be. I have a hatchling female thats a typical nippy baby and a adult male that well you can move him from here to there, but he dont like to cuddle lol. This other male im alittle confused by his new attitude, I actually have a retic that is having the same prob. So I guess it's just a mixed bag.
