Hi, I was wondering if someone could list all the non-venomous snakes from east Afica. I am thinking about having Flame race kenyans imported and wondering what else could be imported from east Africa. Thank you, Lee

With the literally thousands of Flame, Super Flame and other varieties of Kenyan Sand Boas (Eryx colubrinus loveridgei) that are being produced in captivity in the U.S. these days, why in the world do you want to import W/C specimens?
Where are the thousands of flames, and what on earth is super flame? I must be missing something. I've seen or heard about 15 true flames for sale in the last two years and I know who bought them all.. I managed to get three.
There are plenty of Flames around. There is one breeder right up the road from me. I used to have them and sold all mine out. A Super Flame is a morph much like a Flame but with a more intense orange. I sold 11 of them myself last year. If you want, you can E-mail me and I can put you in touch with a guy that has several new litters now. Flames have been around for a while....
I'd like to see a pic. The hallmark of a true Tanzanian flame is the solid orange head. They all also have the pattern that Lee is talking about. If you have some that look like this I'll take 2 or 3!

If you got them I will take 20 , no joke!!!!! If you got them or can get them email me!!!!!!!!
Don't give him 20 until you give me 2 first! I had DIBS!

I already sold what I had. I did not take pictures. Not an uncommon snake. It sounds to me like you guys are really talking about locale specific snakes from a particular area of Tanzania. I don't know about that. If that's the case and that is specifically what you are looking for, then I can understand importing them. All I know is that the ones I had and the ones my friend has look very similar to the pictures. Some had a lot of the "polka dots" and some didn't have as many but they all had some as well as some "zig-zag" pattern. They all had orange heads. I'm about as well versed in the different locales of Sand Boas as I am in the different morphs of Corn Snakes (and about as impressed with them). Around here the "Flame" and "Super Flame" Sand Boas are $50.00 snakes. Like I said, if you E-mail me, I can put you in touch with a guy that is still breeding them. I got out of them because I had other breeding projects going that I was more interested in that needed my time. Maybe it's one of those things where different people are calling different things "Flame", and all of them insist that what they have is the only "real Flame".
Try finding a flame race kenyan for sale!! I have been searching for Flame race kenyans (Tanzania local) on kingsnake.com and other sites for over 4 months now. You may remember seeing this ad (looking for flame race kenyans) on the classifieds of Kingsnake.com. So far, all I found were a pair of 2003 that I picked up for $500, which was well worth it. I have had many people reply to this ad with flames and super flame (whatever they are). Flame race kenyans are far and few between. They are in high demand with kenyan lovers from all over. What is the difference do you ask? The difference is they have a "pokadot" pattern (see pictures below).
