If you're only 200 iles from the NARBC, I definitely would not miss it.
However-there is NO substitute for Daytona! Nothing else comes close.

I don't necessarily agree. Daytona is a larger show, and you will see evryone who is involved in this industry, but I think the NARBC shows are put on much better. The NARBC shows (especially Chicago) draw all the big names with the animals you want to see (or buy). Thier facilities are FAR better then Daytonas, their booths are much nicer, versus just tables. And their "extras" are better like the awesome auction on Sautrday night. Bob and Brian have set a standard that has yet to be broken.
You can't go wrong with either show, but if an NARBC is close, I would definatly not miss it. Oh, the one thing Daytona has above all the rest, the beach!!
I've been lucky enough to be at every National Reptiles Breeders Expo as well as every NARBC show, so from my experience I think it depends on what you want from a show. I'm a little bias because I think the NARBC shows are the best run shows in the country, that's not trying to knock the "big" show. I think Daytona is like a zoo, lots of people, tons of great animals and just an insane weekend. If you want to still see great animals but also have a chance to get to talk to the people you've met online or the breeders that you've heard about but never met, the NARBC shows are the way to go. There's enough time to have a nice talk with everyone and get to know the person you're going to buy from, if that matters to you. So my vote is with the NARBC, but the Daytona show is something that everyone should go to atleast once, it's a site to see!! Hope this helped, Brian(BHB)

thanks to all!!
daytona is bigger, and prices are much more cutthroat as a result, chicago has one giant benefit, it's a little later and a lot more stuff has hatched. plus early hatchlings are sturdier, with a few more meals in them. and at five o'clock, it's either the beach, or cornfields. kd
