I get to breed this year!

BRB_Russ Feb 16, 2008 11:16 AM

I picked up a couple of females from a guy my roommate knows. He got them WC 2 years ago. They arnt super-huge but im going to put my male in with them and see what happens. I just got them in last night so im going to give them a few days to calm down, then feed them and then ill go ahead and throw my male in with one of them and see how it works out.

I'm pretty stoked because if all goes right i will have a clutch of hog islands and two clutches of rainbows

w00t!

Personally I suggest quarantining the male for at least a month and wait till next breeding season as BRB's do need a good cooling period to breed well.

They've been cooled, and i've had the male for like 2 years now.

I agree since you got those Hogs about a month ago or less, I would just leave them in the same quarantine area with the new brb's and leave them for a few months but I don't know if I would throw my male in there unless it is worth it for you in the long run, just MO

I moved the hog's into a totally different area, and put them in together. The rainbows are seperated ATM and im going to feed them for bit and check them out before i put my male in with them.
