do black and white columbians and argentines come out with yellow? do they lose the yellowgold or if they have it as young do they always stay yellow, because i have one that is almost all white except for his back, he is a columbian, but he has a gold back???

B/W Columbians are black and gold as babies. The gold fades to white as they mature. I have an 8 year old b/w columbian, I purchased her as a baby when she was pure black and gold. I was new to Tegus at the time, and the dealer had to assure me that it was a b/w, and not a b/g. She is now Bright Black and White.

Good luck, and handle it as often as possible. Mine has always been a bit feisty.

yea i know columbians are all pretty agressive, i think the reason for this is that they are all wild caught. there are really no set ways of breeding that i have found which makes me believe it hasnt been done much if any. i know there are an abundace of cola tegus so they are caught excessively, i am going to study their habitat, columbia, the wet and dry season, and the temps and humidity (so if anyone has info on this that would be great to know...my email is scalesnshells@yahoo.com) i will try to mimic it and find a good way to breed them, then maybe we can have hand tamed captive breed columbians! wouldnt that be great!
