Speckled Kings

orchidspider Feb 16, 2008 12:49 PM

Can anyone help me find high contrasting black and yellow Holbrooki? I am looking for a pair, however, I keep seeing white Holbrooki with ok spotting or semi banded. I am fine with getting pinky eating babies, just want really nice highly speckled yellow on black background- a yellow underbelly would be nice too!! I dont care if they are hets, just as long as they show good color. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot y'all

Try Split Rock Reptiles. Honestly there's not very many White Speckled Kings out there so I don't know how you'd keep seeing them but regardless Jim at Split Rock had some really nice ones not long ago. I won't see any here til June. Tom Stevens

Ben Siegel reptiles has some quality holbrooki that have the look that you describe. I received a female from them that is high speckled and has some nice yellow. Also, as Tom Stevens said, try Jim Sargent at Split Rock reptiles. If it's bright lemon yellow your after, I don't think you'll find any better. I believe Jim aquired his from Scott's collection. Good luck.

I was all set to buy a pair from Ben Siegle, and found he only had males left, thats why I thought Id post this. I dontd like the white spotting at all , just yellow and black- like yours in your pic , very nice snake!

I know it is a personal preference, but I like them both. I should have some high yellow Calhoun county, Texas specks this year. They start out with the barred pattern but loose them to become killer adults. We shall see! Here is a female from a wild clutch I found and an adult from the exact same area. They go through a bit of a change over two years or so.

Thanks man, sometimes you get a break! I think these are about the yellowest I have ever seen in person, some even have orange sidewalls!
