ball in waterdish

tyedor Feb 17, 2008 11:18 AM

hi,
my 07' girl is spending all her time in her waterdish. her temps are right where they are supposed to be. i've even dropped them a little to see if that will make a difference. i've also inspected for parasites. my question is: is it eventually unhealthy for her? and also, what are some other reasons that she might be doing this? thanks, tye

They DO soak if they have mites. Also, do you have a hide for it and might it be to big? If the hide is not satisfactory or it feels insecure in any other way it may use the water dish for security. They seem to like tight fitting hides. It may also be that she's dehydrated. How's the humidity in the enclosure? You say your temps are right. Mind if I ask what they're set at? Just some ideas.

Maybe the same or maybe not but my female Corns commonly soak a lot this time of year right before there shed and breeding. I have one female Corn that will spend days at a time coiled up in her water this time of year.
