Housing?

zeroto4legs Feb 17, 2008 05:38 PM

Would you be able to house two adult Carpet pythons, in the same cage if you had a big enough cage for them both to have more than enough room?

thanks

some will say yes some will say no i prefer the no option i house all my animals seperatly unless breeding season and i am trying to breed that year.
when housing more then one together you have to worry about if you go in to take one out where is the otehr one and is it gonna tag you.
then there is feeding you gotta take both out to feed and put back together after safe amount of time so they dont smell like food and eat each other.
then there is if there is health problems harder to monitor and if one poops funny or regurges what one did and is it gonna get the other one sick.
there is a whole lot of reasons to house seperate but only thing i can think of to house together is save cage space and well breeding.

however some keepers of reptiles house there snakes together there is alot of ppl who advise against it in my personal experiance i would much wrather just house every1 seperately and that is also what i recomend

Eh, I'm sort of in the "housing together" camp. Anything I have at any given time that is a pair or a trio is generally kept together... No problems thusfar, and given the limited space in my reptile room it's definately more convenient for me as well.

:/ To each their own, I guess.
