ive ask several people either via internet,or just idol chit chat. so maybe some one can give me some info whats the deal with the talk on banning the sale of reptiles in the U.S, or what ever the hype is all about im aware that this isnt the herp law forum but im hope that i can get more info from the every day joe. any why whats all the hype about because ive been liveing under a rock for the last 4 months.

i dont see the law on IMPORTATION/ INTERSTATE COMMERCE ON HERPS goin through , just too many business affected. and unless your tring to buy more snakes, out of state even if it passes you shouldnt have a problem, as far as i understand the ban wouldnt be on genus python/ boa but species within them banned mainly the big 5.

There's no bill yet. The USFWS is gaining information on a proposal that would in effect ban the importation of species that fall under the genus Python, Boa, or Eunectus, as well as the interstate trade of said species. So Morelia, Liasis, Corallus, Epicrates, Candoia, etc. wouldn't be affected.

Too many people think this is already a bill being voted on and that it covers every kind of Boa or Python. Both of these facts are simply not true (yet).
