Tegu missing tongue

AR Aug 27, 2003 04:24 PM

I am new to tegus, I ordered a baby argentine tegu yesterday, and recieved it today. When I got home from work today, I noticed it wasn't flicking it's tongue. Then I looked closer and noticed it was opening it's mouth like it was flicking it's tongue, but nothing is coming out. I know tegus should flick their tongues frequently, and this guy is just not doing it. He seems fine otherwise. I am able to hold it, and it is real calm. I called the guy up and he said if I wanted to send it back and they would replace it. My question is would a missing tongue cause a big problem or would it thrive. I will probably ship back to them.

Just curious

how strange!
where did you buy him?
Try and keep him...I mean I would try and get some money back, but if you send him back, I would hate to think of what might happen to the poor little guy. But again that would depend on where you got him....
