corn morph ID

myotismn Feb 18, 2008 10:34 AM

I have had this girl for a while but don't really know what to refer to her as, as far as morphs go. So many colors of corn look exactly the same to me or I see one called something somewhere and another that looks identical called something else. So I thought I'd ask everyones opinion. What would you call her?

She's a beautiful striped motley. She's probably het for stripe since most striped motlies are. She shows no signs of being one of the hypo mutations.

Thanks Don. I am not that great with the genetics and what to expect, but I have got an amel stripe/ patternless male that I am going to be getting (once the herp shipping weather gets better around here) to pair her up with someday. What are your thoughts on what the offspring might look like?

DonSoderberg Feb 18, 2008 11:43 AM

...both striped and striped motlies. The "patternless" part of the equation is probably just a polygenic trait or a gene modifyer. We don't yet know for sure on that one.
