Anybody have oppinions on sterilite plastic boxes and lids for caging king/milk snakes?
I use Sterilite for virtually everything. But the lids are NOT escape proof. You have to either use weights or rubberbands to hold the lids down, or build a rack system. I use mostly racks.

I use all sterilite tubs and it is good, durable stuff. However, I lost two snakes who escaped when I had them in sterilite tubs with their lids weighted down (evidently not enough). Now I only use them in my Animal Plastics rack system (no lids, just a perfect fit between the shelf bottoms and tops) and have had no escapes in 18 months.
I use sterilite in a vision rack and in a homemade rack.
In the vision rack, they are lidless - in the homemade rack, they have lids - and slide in w/o enough top space for them to pop open the lids.

I use a ton of Sterilite shoe and sweater boxes with lids in various rack styles. Some are 10 years old and have endured strong bleach, heat tape and long cold winters.
The rack must keep the lid snug to the base.

The only thing I use is sterilite, with lids, in racks. I haven't had any problems, and they are durable.
