Here's a few shots of some Kemp's Ridley's sea turtles as they were feeding on sea grasses in the boat slips of the condos I was working at yesterday. I love watching these guys as they swim their silent ballet, so graceful underwater. They are quite beautiful aside from the algae on their backs. They site particular grass pieces from under water, swim up, surface, exhale, inhale, close their eyes, bite down, then submerge to eat under water. They shake their heads side to side to aid in cutting the grass. I watched them for over an hour and am only disappointed that the battery died before getting better shots. Enjoy!

That's very cool Todd! I've seen them off of the Jetties, it's fun to watch them do their thing. I might be hitting some spots in you area this weekend, we should get out.

I might be in the Pt. Aransas/Corpus area over the weekend. I would also be interested in meeting up and doing some herping, if you guys don't mind. (I don't want to drive all the way to Arlington for the expo, so I figured I might try and herp somewhere closer at least!).

Where do you guys see these Ridley's feeding? I've never seen a live one in TX and would like to go down and get it on "the list" while I'm on the coast.

I've only seen them directly off the Jetties, mostly on the canal side, while fishing.
