chewing and eating sand HELP

my beardie is constantly chewing on his rock and eating the sand. even when theres food in front of him!! he'll take a few bites then go eat sand. and often he will go over to his rock and chew on it, which leaves his mouth red. PLEASE HELP

it may be asking you for some calcium. do you give it any vits? what is its diet?

Get him OUTTA there! Eating sand like that VERY likly will kill him. Accidently eating a little sand while catching crickets has killed many dragons, so this is VERY dangerous!! Get him on newspaper for tonight, and get some repti carpet ASAP.

Also please tell us what your setup, feeding, and oter care is like...what you feed every day, what you supplement with, what kind of UV and temps you have...

If your beardie is eating sand, you need to remove the sand. It's going to cause big problems.
Get some cuttlbone (like what hangs on the side of bird cages). Scrape it in a pile on his rock for him.
Eva's right, he seems to be in search of calcium.
