ok i'm getting mad

SO I have been trying to find a new wholesaler for ball pythons and many other snakes and reptiles but mostly ball pythons. I have talked to a few over the phone just today. and they all want something from me to prove that I would be worth their while. One company want half a year of invoices. Or another wants me to sign a form that I will buy 2 times a month of 400 dollars or each time. I jsut don't get it. how hard is it to find a wholesaler to buy from. I have notice that it seems like more and more people don't like money any more unless it's thousands and thousands of dollars. even with top end breeders. I wanted to buy 1.1 spider 1.1 cinn .1 pin from a top breeder and talked to him and set up a price and every thing. when I was told to call him before I left the house to meet him I did and no answer. a month later same thing . So why is if you are not willing to spend lots of money no cares about you? how long does it take most people to make a $1000.00 at there jobs? on the avg. I could keep going on these two but I have go . thanks

You are confusing terms. You are not a wholesale buyer. You are retail buyer looking for a deal on a few things. Wholesale by definition in this trade means that you will be buying volume of animals to get good prices and you will be spending much more money and on a somewhat regular basis. You want a one time deal and a good one but you are not buying at a wholesale level.

I would give you a very good price on the 5 snakes you want that would be a bit below what you would see most of them sell for but I would not give you the same pricing that I would give somebody that buys dozens of the animals from me multiple times a year. It is just what is fair and how business is done.

It's called a business. They're trying to make money.

I take home about 1300 on a 40 hour work week, and if I had the animals I would gladly take your buisness weither long term or not. Money is money! You'd think they'd at least answer your calls, thats good buisness.

With that specific list it seems like you are buying a group for yourself for a future breeding project. That is not what wholesale is for. Wholesale is bulk sales to re-sell.

The morphs you're looking at are rather cheap. Just pay what a BREEDER is asking. Emphasis on the breeder, don't buy second hand. Lots of good people breeding reptiles, give them business that they deserve for their hard work.

Are you opening a pet shop? Most wholesalers won't sell to the general public unles you pay big. If you have a store front then they might give you a better deal. just a guess here.

sounds pretty much what any wholesaler will want. Wholesalers typically sell to retail outlets in bulk and nearly all of them will want a minimum order of some amount. $400 is about the average from my own research (though wasn't looking at live animals at the time but for general products, thats what they want.) Wholesalers in general buy everything from the source or some other step...they then turn around and sell in bulk to retailers or resellers.

At times you can buy bulk ball pythons in lots from various sources...usually somebody who buys a large amount from an exporter, then breaks them down into smaller lots and sells them. That may be what you are thinking of..when hatchling time comes along and you have tons of captive hatched lots shipped out from Africa.... though from what I have noticed, these are typically all normal ball pythons with a few odd balls and some morphs mixed in. These days though, most of the African deals know what to look for and keep all the special looking balls for separate sales to get a better price.
