I need a little help

HerpZillA Feb 20, 2008 08:06 AM

My troublesome female bloodred ate and kept down her second pinky. her stole is dark which scares me, but that can be a slow digestive track.

So, please, answer from people that are sure,, upgrade to a

1 fuzzy
2 pinkies
1 pinky then another pinky in a few days.

She is super thin and almost 30"s.

I was told years ago, by an actual biologist, that was into herps, that is is always safer and better to feed more small than an equal amount in 1 animal. SO,, I'm leaning towards 2 pinkies this Thursday night..

Background, for those that do not know. I bouhgt a feamle blood months ago, she regurged her first meal from me. I found my temps were very high. She never recovered like most snakes would. I think I got her in Aug? So it has been a long stretch.

Also sorry for not posting. More radio frequency nerve ablations and a few other health issues.

Thanks in advance

hey tom i would try 2 pinks as i have always been told the same thing also if you slit the pinkie it will aid in digestion, i usually slit the abdomen but it makes a mess and some nutrition could be lost which you dont want right now. also have you given the blood red any pedialyte? it helps restore electrolytes supposedly

She does not seem to like dead. I did not have pedialyte, but she loves green gatorade lol. I was also forcing pinky heads rolled in nutribac.

I may snag a little pedilyte from teh shop, for when I replace her bowl. I also pull it for 2-3 days. I pulled out all teh stops for stuff i can do.

thanks

Tom, I would go with the one pink every few days thing. Also, try Smart water (that's the name brand, found at some Wal-marts and most Target stores)it's got less sodium than pedialite and may help in digestion. Are there any other factors, like wheezing? Have had a fecal done? She may have picked up some parasites.
