need help identifying sex of these torts

These are Testudo kleinmanni's and other than that, I have no more info on them. Was asked for my oppinion, and I think one is male and one is female.. so I'd like to hear other oppinions on what the possible sex of these critters are.

#1 is a male and #2 is a female

I would say just the opposite looking at the anal scute shapes and the sizes and lengths of their tails. However, if the pictures could be taken from a little different angle (more directly above the tortoises), they might be more revealing.
