Two frogs i photographed today in Southern Maine - PICS - ID?

fonzerella Aug 27, 2003 06:10 PM

Hello!
I recently moved to Southern Maine and have seen a few different frogs and toads.

Today I was able to photograph the two, though the one I think is a leopard frog did not turn out well. Four of the five photos were unusable, and the one that is usable is just barely.

Sadly, I did not have my camera handy the other day when I captured a young milksnake of some sort (any ideas?) and a juvie black racer.

Anyways, any help identifying these two would be greatly appreciated! (though I do think the 2nd frog was a young leopard).

I hope I don't mess this multiple picture post up!

The top frog is a Wood Frog (Rana sylvatica).
The bottom frog is a Pickerel Frog (Rana palustris).
