Building rack for pits?

regnadkcin Feb 20, 2008 07:46 PM

I just got together enough material to build a few racks and was wondering what the best size sterlite tubs are for my rack. The best I have been able to find locally are 40 qt. 26 1/2 x 18 1/4 x 6 3/8. Are these large enough to breed N. Pines or Bulls in? If not what should I get? Thanks.

IMO I think you should go bigger. I used to breed patternless southerns and black pines in 6 ft x 2ft x 2ft display cages. You can go smaller than that, but I would put them in the biggest cage you possibly can. These snakes get big.

I bought some sterlite 74 Qt. Their only like 6 3/4" tall but I guess Pits don't need extra heigth in their enclosure.
