Boaphile Plastic Cages?

cobrafan Feb 21, 2008 11:58 AM

I was thinking of trying one of their arboreal cages. I usually buy Visions but they are so expensive when you add in the oversize freight. Has anybody used the boaphile plastic cages and like them. I bought a few of the BARRS(or herpcages.com) cages and don't like them at all because the corners of the cages are such an angle that you can hardly clean them. Are the Boaphile corners anymore rounded for easier/better cleaning. That's the main thing I like about Visions. Any feedback/suggestions on these cages welcomed,
Drew.

I have 3 boaphile cages and I like them, mostly because with the hing/latch upgrades (black)they look very nice/professional. However, they are a bit hard to clean. I have had feces stick to them that can be very difficult to get off.

From 1 (bad) -10 (good) all things considering, I would give them an 8.

The ventilation for the cages I have, and have seen in other collections, comes from having a gap around the plexi door. This gap could allow accidental envenomations and could be deemed an unsafe ven cage. I'm sure that you can order custom doors that would not have this gap from the company. I have to say that the constuction is excellent and they look very professional. I offer this advice only so that you can avoid any problems if/when your facility is inspected (if you live in a state that inspects vens that is).
