I visit the forum daily, but haven't had much to say lately. Rorschach has been asleep for the winter, but today she's moving about in her new digs. I revamped her cage while she wasn't using it.
She got a blockage last summer because she was eating sand, so she spent the rest of the year on a bare glass floor, covered as much as possible with big rocks. She wasn't happy with it, and neither was I. My new experiment is with loam. I packed it in tight around the rocks (no rocks on top of loam, so impossible to dig under and be crushed). It's much more solid than sand, so should be fun to burrow in, but I'm hoping she won't be able to eat it since it's packed pretty tight. Wish me luck - we'll see how it goes!
First thing she did was find the hide I built for her and seal herself in by blocking the door with clumps of loam. Now she's poking her nose into all the other little tunnels and crevices. So far so good. Very bouncy and curious.
The color's awful in the picture because she's under the Mega Ray warming up.
