Ovulating??

omerfriedman Feb 22, 2008 08:52 PM

I have a pastel male that has locked up with three of my females numerous times this season. I keep checking for the 'bulge' in the females characteristic of ovulation. how long after breeding does this occur? i have tried palpating them a few times but i'm pretty sure that i'm not doing it right. i feel the little bumps, but there are many of them so i figure that what i am feeling is either urates/feces or organs.

so basically what i'm asking is how long should i keep paring the males up with the females - when do i know that the breeding actually took?

AND...is there risk in overbreeding? i've heard that its not good to do this, but i only ahve three females that i'm rotating...should i give the guy a break every once in a while?

I'd actually seen those before. They are helpful, but I was looking for something more specific

thanks
