anyone know about electrical

I have a bionair heater in the room and had it for the 2nd winter now with no problems, for the last month or 2 things changed. I started smelling something burning when I noticed it was the plug to the heater, the heaters plug and one of the outlets burned and melted a little so I hooked it up to a heavy duty extention cord to reach another outlet and pluged the heater into a strip outlet, Now what happens is when I put the heater on high it keeps triping the outlet and shutting off. Anyone know what the problem may be?

It's sucking more energy than the circuit can handle. Get a new heater.

Sounds like you have a bad space heater. also maybe your breaker box sucks too. Since the second outlet atleast turns off half your house instead of burning that part down then i would use that outlet to plug your new space heater into. I would call the manufacturer of the heater and complain, but if its an option - call an electrician (or find a better forum)

If you smell burning and its tripping the breaker you could have a short. In any event the heater is not functioning properly and should be unplugged until you find out what exactly it is. It could be a fire hazard, better safe than sorry.
