I can't get your link to open, but I have both read and heard that some kings will eat eggs in addition to rodents, lizards, frogs, and fish. I have also heard of and I have seen photos of corn snakes eating crickets..

Opportunistic feeders will eat most anything I guess!

Many wild kings eat eggs. Tons of turtle eggs are taken by L.g.getula and L.g. floridana each year I bet.

A friend walking a bank of the big lake found a fla king eating up turtle eggs and he watched the snake eat a few before taking the king and covering up the remainder of the eggs.

Very cool that she got pics of that!, but it isn't at all surprising to me that the snake did this, especially in a low bush that has a nest that smells profoundly of bird.

I wonder if the mother bird bolted AFTER she saw the snake, or if she was the main course. Another scenario is that she was gone while this happened. Does your mom know anything at all about the mother bird?

The link isnt mine its taken from small terrestrial snake forum however the person who posted it knows what they are talking about but I thought perhaps the king simply ate fledgling birds perhaps as you stated following a smell into a nest.

Would never have thought a king would eat bird eggs as unlike reptile eggs they are hard and not something they are built to eat unlike actual egg eating snakes.

I should have asked if anyone has actually seen a king eat a bird egg (not reptile egg) ?

This guy was found with 5 baby birds in it and a half digested skink. I believe they can, will and do eat bird eggs, although I have not personally witnessed it.
