Sick Panther

tessai May 22, 2003 09:26 PM

I have a female panther about 1 year old who isnt doing to well. I have already taken her to a vet and have been treating her with baytril , and feeding her liquid diet using a syringe. vet also prescribed eyedrops that made the situation worse. as advised by the vet i stopped using the eye drops. Its been 2 weeks since the vet visit and fortuntately she isnt getting worse, but her recovery is slow. I am supposed to stop assist feeding this saturday as the prescription food is only for 2 weeks. i don't think she will be able to eat on her own. initial setup was a powersun uvb bulb with a live tree housed in a 4X2X2 ft cage. now shes in a smaller cage with a reptisun 5.0 and daylight blue bulb. Has anyone gone thru a similiar situation and can offer me some advice? i would really appreciate this. i also put her in the shower with warm water every other day hoping she can clean her eyes out. this morning i tried massaging her eyes a little. b4 i make another trip to the vet i would like to see if this can be resolved with the help of the chameleon owner communitiy. thanks everyone.
