USGS under the gun

Take a look at Kelly Hallers post on the Boa Forum. This is the kind of information I've been looking for (thanks Kelly). Looks like Mr. Rodda (and the USGS) is going to be in spin mode here soon. Hopefully they'll just pull the map and make a retraction. I'm really curious to see how they handle this.

Yes, thanks for pointing out that post, it's great information. But do you guys really think it's going to matter? If the people behind that map were interested in real science, reason and common sense, the map wouldn't have been published in the first place. It was supposed to have been "peer reviewed", whatever
that means. Why wouldn't people like Kelly Haller been consulted
BEFORE the map was published???

IMO, there's no way this map could have been an "honest mistake" or even incompetence. Trying to politely reason with whoever is behind it is like reasoning with your 3 year old child or having "peace talks" with terrorists who want to slash your throat.

BTW, I hope I'm wrong on this...
