You'll probably be better off asking about the Lyres over on the "Small Terrestrial Snakes" forum, and the "Racers & Coachwhips" forum for the Yellow-Bellied Racer. You should get some fairly quick responses from guys that deal with those on a regular basis on those two forums.

That's another incredible shot. What kind of camera do you use? I'm in the photography biz (news, mostly) so anything camera-oriented really grabs my attention.
I've got a digital cam that my brother bought me last summer (Sony Cybershot) but even with macro on I can't quite get it to focus that closely. I'd love to get shots like that.

Thanks again for the kind words,.......It's a Canon "PowerShot" A-540. It has a ton of cool features, and actually is capable of doing does WAAAYY more than the average user will ever be able to utilize(me included).
I've found that experimenting with different techniques(lighting, cropping, etc...) has a lot to do with good end results, but above all, it helps to have some luck and cooperation from the snake!,.......out of many shots, you get a few that are really outstanding.
Thanks again!, ~Doug
