Thought you guys could be interested in this version of a black racer I painted...yeah I know...red? The color worked well with the design.Let me know what you think!

Hey Matt, GREAT looking painting, love how realistis it looks (other than color ) the scales, head and overall proportion look good to me. Love the tounge flick and layering (depth?) with the leaves.

Which raises a really good question, feel like tackling a BRB for us? Hint hint!!! Please!!!

Wow that looks nice! It's really precise, looks almost like an Adobe program; what kind of paint did you use? I really like to draw too, I can never get a good amount of time where mine is in view and sitting still to do one of him from observation though

Thanks much. I do the sketch,oddly enough with spray panit,then on this particular piece,only acrylic over it. The end result is all acrylic (what you see)I shoot photos,then figure out my theme and design,then paint em'.I shot this photo in my moms backyard this past summer. I chased this guy at full sprint through a field of long grass (how romantic sounding....)This was the best photo of about a hundred. Gotta love digital for that.
