I don't recall if i posted before about this or not but heres an update anyways LOL
I noticed a few small white bugs on my entertainment unit shortly after raising all of my tanks with wood strips. I thought it was the wood since there were bugs there too. I have since found that the majority of bugs were housed in the cage my crickets were in. I haven't been using crickets so i cleaned out the cage leaving a layer of substrate at the bottom cause i was going to get some for my crested gecko. BIG MISTAKE!!! Luckily the bugs were only on the one unit and i have been able to completely rid myself of them! Granted i DID NOT follow my own warnings about bleach LOL. All of my tanks on that unit were totally disinfected......so much so that my room and the HOUSE smelled really really clean....(yes i have completely rinced the tanks). I also used an indoor bug spray, cleaned out my mealworms (even though they were not near any of this), removed everything that could be a hiding spot for bugs, and cleaned my entire room. Its NEVER been this clean lol and i don't think i've had this much of a workout (moving tanks and geckos out of the area). The 40 gal was really really heavy LOL
The lesson for the day.........bugs can have bugs LOL.
Oh yeah, and my mealworms are going strong.....no bugs present there - i know cause i spent the last few hours picking out each and every worm, inspecting them, cleaning them (they don't like that lol) and putting them in a new container.
Boo is doing Ok. No signs of bugs, Zeek (my crested) was right next to that unit so i removed him to a critter keeper so i could clean his cage totally.....he's not a happy camper lol
Thats my exciting story LOL
