Question on handling ovulating/gravid...

MountainLyon Feb 25, 2008 05:13 AM

How much can an ovulating or gravid boa be moved/handled for cleaning? I've been carefully scooping her up and putting her in a clean cage. She doesn't seem to mind, but she does grab onto me, making me worry she is squeezing her eggs... then again gravid boas still feed and constrict, so the babies must be reasonably tough... right??

i clean my boa's cage on the side she isn't, and then wait until she goes to the other side and do the same, it's been working well. I don't handle mine much due to being possibily gravid.

Thanks Diggy, that's kinda what I figured, except she's been staying on the warm side since she's been ovulating. I guess I'll slide her over, and maybe turn the thermostat up a tick.
