Thin Red Blood

williamtroutman Feb 25, 2008 08:08 AM

I have a Red blood who isn't putting on weight like I would like her too. She is still thin....maybe its just me. I got her in dec. and she has grown from roughly 120g to about 160 or so. Any thoughts on whether this is normal or not? She has shed about 3 times for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Shedding three times is a lot, more than I experience with my snakes for that amount of growth. But you do have growth and snakes grow at different paces. At 160g you can offer jumbo mice or weanling rats for food about every 10-14 days.

My smallest female was aquired on 1/12/08. she was thin to me at 136G. being a very good eater she is at 242G as of yesterday. That being on a 7-10 day feeding. I also have a pair that I got in august of 07 and they were both around 120-130 both are now alittle over 600 Grams. I guess if alertness and hydration are good then give it time at the blood should start to grow.
