My water pump seems to be as loud as a medium sized air pump for aquariums. I listen from inside the vivarium and I hear it rumbleing granted I havent placed the soil layer on yet but would it bother the frogs?

If the pump is touching the glass, it will vibrate or the tank may resonate. Experiment with positioning/padding the pump and you should find the noise greatly reduced.
After checking to see if it's vibrating against something, check to see if it needs cleaning. Mine will get noisy when they get a small clog or the water level gets too low so that they are sucking a bit of air.

Actually its in a small butter tub thats covered in gravel as discribed on surian.net. I the only thing its really touching is the gravel.
Maybe it's just a faulty pump.

Im thinking its just a bit big... I mean it does sound normal it sounds just like a large aquarium air pump.
