it's 6'x2'x2' for 3 collared it could be smaller but if you have the room they like it! - jim

Thanks Eve, it's not too pretty but it works really well, I was thinking how I'd build it when kane started hiting his nose on the screen in the 20L, then it became a emergency ! and had to get the wood and do it in one day before he bleeds to death!, what ever happen to "if it hurts don't do it" DAH - jim

I have a hard time keeping my 29 gal hot enough, how do you provide heat in that cage? It is very nice and I am very jealous, my roommate would kill me if I came home with one of those!

Wood holds heat in better then glass and the cold out(air conditioning), I use a 160w mercury vapor "capture the sun" laying right on the roof, the M/V bulb doesn't get as hot as you would think! so I also use a 150w halogen flood thats what really gives off heat. the basking area is 103 deg.F sometimes after long hours it may go to 107 I either turn off the 150w or raise it with clamp, the other end is 90 deg. Laura you should try a regular 100w light bulb if you need more heat add a 60w, "basking spots" are a waste of money, M/V are very pricie but are the best uvb, I had a 24" 8.0 uvb fluorescent inside the cage, as soon as i got the M/V Kane started eating better! Good Luck - Jim

Jim, I use a 100 and 60 watt plus a full spec and that keeps it plenty warm. None of my tanks are big enough for a M/V, but hopefully one day I will have one.
