Much of the size is determined by many factors, such as health, general care over the first year, and genetics.

But if we are talking about an average dragon, with good overall care, and no extreme genetic advantages in terms of size, an average 1year old size might be about 17-18 inches.

Though myself (and others in the hobby) have dragons in their collections that attain massive sizes early on in life. I have a male Hypo that is 7 months old, 22 inches and 580 grams and still growing rapidly. In fact, that measurement was taken around a month ago, so he is bigger now.

On the other end of the spectrum, I have a perfectly healthy female, who is almost 2 years old, and is only about 16 or 17 inches long and just over 400 grams. But she isn't unhealthy in any way.
