Okay, so what's the best way to get the smell of snake musk off your hands? He got a little ticked at me tonight when I was holding him. I've tried my usual handsoap, but I think I can still smell it.

Well, Todd, Its you and I, that appear to be the only true snake lovers. I live to be musked on.

On the field side of this, I have found where kings live(colonies) from smelling THAT SMELL. Yes, thats not common, but has happened and in with witnesses(with Pyros).

But yea, when in the field, I am not all that happy until I smell of musk and fit with nature.

By the way, both bobcats and mountain lions rub and roll on snakes to mask their own smell. Sometimes they kill the snakes, sometimes not.(two other large predators) Have you found snakes with both their head and cloaca chew up? Thats bobcats. Cheers

Depending on the snake, it can be hard to get off. I once had a northern water snake musk on me, and I smelled like ticked off snake for the a couple hours - even after washing my hands several times.

Soap and water always worked well for me. You can try things like Dawn, which may have a little more grease, etc. cleaning power than regular handsoap (I don't really know if there is a difference, but who knows).

A little tomato juice or lemon juice couldn't hurt -- both are known to help "neutralize" skunk odor. Why not give it a try next time . . .

I bet snake poop is pretty effective.

My girlfriend has this really fragrant jasmine and vanilla hand soap that she got from Bath and Body Works. When I use it, it removes or masks all other scents. It smells pretty good, but it's an acquired taste. I usually use a hand sanitizer first, then the hand soap.

It comes in a square red pump jar and is called Bath & Body Works AROMATHERAPY Sensual Hand Soap. Scent is jasmine and vanilla.

Some guys may not want to use it, but I guess I'm secure enough in my masculinity to go around smelling like a geisha.

Jason..the snake died..just like the pac10 did in the final four last year. And your right..I'm bringing nothing to the table this year, but my laughter of the knowledge that you may be attempting to raise a pencil thin, rodent scared, MBK...everybody knows how fussy they are..J/K about everything BUT the pac10 folding as they will again this year..call me.

Gee, thanks guys... Next time I'll feel honored that my snake musked me. I'll just keep some Dawn or hand sanitizer close. He's gotten used to the fact that everytime he pees, musks, or poos on me, he gets carried in to the bathroom sink so I can wash off. ^_^ I think he likes getting the bath.

lol... so glad to see I'm not the only one thats done that... but usually out in public at that point is going to the farm to feed my horse, so I just end up smellin like horse and cow on top of musk..

This is simple, when musked simply pick a kid and wipe, they are always alot more smelly than the snake and you dont seem to mind them....;0
