Are Leuistic (spelling is bad)Rat Snakes The Same As Blizzard Corn Snake

bxherp May 22, 2003 09:31 PM

Hey everyone. I was at a reptile store a few weeks ago and I saw some snakes in a tank that looked like blizzard corns. But on the tank it said the snakes were leuistic rat snakes. Thinking this was a mistake I asked the guy if these were blizzard corns. He said yes, that leuistic rat snakes are the same as bizzard corns. Can anyone confirm this...Thanks.-ELvy

Leucistic rats are usually Tx rats. It is the result of a single mutation that removes the pattern and color (the eyes are not red, but blue) Blizzard corns are the result of a double mutation, albino charcoal expressed at the same time. Eyes are red.
