eye color

tried to find info on eye color but have had no luck whatsoever. i love this guys yellow shade but it is his blue eyes that really make him stand out in a group. Can anyone enlighten me on how common blue eyes are and if the trait is dominant/recessive?

I have seen dragons like that before. It is really neat looking.

I don't know if it is dominant or recessive or COdom. But either way it is worth exploring

as we speak. if nothing blue results i will hold back the babies to see if the trait will prove out. I am a blue eyed husky freak so it would be cool if i could produce blue eyed beardies.

For the life of me I can't see the blue you are referring to. However, his eyes are very pretty, and they look like the gold iris line that Kevin Dunne has. Draggintails has an amber colored eye male that is very impressive, and Fire and Ice Dragons are starting to do some work focusing on eye color.

I have a red hypo female with strange eyes. They nearly match the irridescent red of her body.

A lot of work could be done with eye color on beardeds. All these years, most breeders have simply focused on bolder, brighter colors.

thanks for your response. Not real sure if you are looking at the right pic though because they are as blue as the sky is so perhaps your monitor coloring needs adjustment. There is no gold hue whatsoever in them.....just blue. Of course i am talking about the top dragon, perhaps you are looking at the wrong one.

i was hoping someone else would post a pic of a blue eyed one they had also but like you said, not many people have focused on eye color in beardies. Or perhaps the blue eyes are not very common. I know that in 30 years of doing this, i have never seen (or at least noticed) one. If anyone else has one please post a pic.

thanks, don
