OK here is the deal

i moved to florida last sept and i got a new bd about a month ago and shes growing like a weed. In ny i used to go petland discounts and get 40b tanks for like 75 bucks here they are all like 200. I wish i could have taken my tanks wit me me.
so back to my question. are there any cages i can buy that arent going to break my bankroll being i just started a new job. There is a guy selling a couple neodesha cages by me. do these work well for beardeds ive only used tanks for the last like 10 years.

the Neodesha cages should be fine, as long as you are able to set up fixtures for heat and UVB light. The cage for a single bearded dragon should have a floor space of 4'x2' and the height can be around 16-24" depending on type of UVB bulb you will be using. For the long tube bulbs, the shorter height is better, as it ensures the UVB rays are still strong to reach your dragon. Mercury Vapor type bulbs need more distance, at least 18" from the top of the basking area to the bulb surface.

You can also just build your own cage. There are plenty of cage designs and instructions in past posts or check the cage/enclosure forum. A search for cages/enclosures should produce good results. Keep in mind the cage doesn't have to say bearded dragon cage to be perfectly fine for a bearded dragon...just keep the dragon's needs in mind for minimum cage size (4'x2'x16"-24". BDLvr has posted many times his cages which I think are fantastic, wish I live close to him so I could pay him to build some cages for me. But I live much to far and the shipping costs would be horrid. (Cost so ship a single cage the size he makes up to Canada..even unassembled, would be more than the cost of the material its made of)

yeah, i just built my own out of plywood and plexiglass, it cost me about 80 bucks for the cage materials and 50 for all the lights and stuff. i just copied a design that BDLover put up but with a few differences, i was able to pull the whole thing off with just a dremmel tool, circular saw and a drill. when she's in there she seems to like it. it's 36x30x18
