Hey all,
It's great to see everyone's breeding season in full swing. I've had some breeding activity going on here since late fall, with only one poss het albino female go thru her POS (hopefully she'll prove to be het since she was paired with a 100% het albino boy).
Anyway, moving on to the point of this post. This week was very exciting for me as I finally figured out the "timing" of my 2001 male albino. Ever since he was 3 1/2 years old, I've been trying to pair up this boy with any of the big girls (Anery poss het snow, 2 big normals, and/or DH Sunglow) I have over here, and to no avail as he NEVER showed any interest whatsoever in any gal. Though I was grateful to have a nice mellow albino in my collection, I'd always wanted to breed him. Finally, this week's winter/spring "warm up" in southern California got him interested, and BAM!!!!! He's courting!!!!
I AM SOOOOOO Happy!!! This is the surprise hypo that turned out to be a DH Sunglow as she and another hypo turned out to both be DH Sunglow. She put her weight back on with no problem and hopefully this big yellow banana get the job done. Here are more pics:
Even if she doesn't take, I'm still very happy and excited to finally figure out my boy. I guess he needs the "warm up" to get going, as opposed to everyone else in my collection that gets it on during the cool period in late fall.
You learn something new everyday in the hobby. And what a great hobby it is.
Another exciting pairing I'm anticipating is my now proven DH sunglow male and my Anery poss het snow female. I have a hunch that she's a DH snow because back in 2006 she popped out a premie snow boa of all things along with a nice healthy litter of anerys and normal poss hets. I'm really excited to hopefully get sunglows het anery (or het moonglow, I guess).
I have one more hopeful pairing which I'll post about later. But these are my personal favorite hopeful (fingers crossed) pairings.
This stuff is great fun and I for one am grateful to have stumbled across this hobby over a decade ago.
Have fun everyone and all the best to you all during this year's breeding season!!!
Jay
