I just got a Herpstat Pro proportional thermostat last week and am initially extremely impressed. This four-output unit is feature rich and easy to configure - so easy, that I had it up and running four enclosures with different requirements in ten minutes thanks to the clearly-written and well-illustrated instruction manual.
And after years of just not bothering with programmed night drops due to the hassle of extra cords and mechanical timers on other brands of thermostats, I found myself trying out different temperature drops because the Herpstat Pro is so quick and easy to program - a few button clicks and you're done without the need for additional equipment.
Anyway, my main concerns so far are with how rugged both the probes and the base unit itself will prove to be. Since Spyder is new, there isn't much of a track record to go on, compared with, say, Helix. What have your experiences been so far? And specifically, does anyone know much humidity or direct contact with water the probes will tolerate? I was spraying down a cage when I realized that the manual didn't mention this topic at all.
Thanks for your help,
Joan
